Online Candlelit Yoga Event

This year marks our 12th year in raising money and supporting local charities through our Charity Yoga by Candlelight events.

Due to the government restrictions this year we are unable to do this in person but I have worked really hard to put together this very special online event and I'm excited to share it with you.

With a little Christmas magic ✨ I will guide you through a very gentle, nourishing and nurturing yoga session in a beautiful candlelit setting before immersing you in a relaxing sound bath with crystal singing bowls, voice and rainstick.

After you sign up you will have access to these sessions up until New Years Eve, so you will be able to experience them at a convenient time for you and you will also have the chance to repeat the sessions as many times as you like thoughout the festive period.

Christmas Yoga Online Event

We are supporting REACH charity though these sessions.  REACH is a charity based in Brentwood in Essex and  specialises in equine assisted therapy.  REACH provide high quality assessment and rehabilitation programmes, using trained horses, to give a treatment strategy for adults and children suffering with physical, mental, social and/or learning disabilities.  I have first hand experience of the wonderful magic that happens at REACH and it was heartbreaking to think that this small charity nearly closed its doors due to the events of this year.  I'm so happy to hopefully be able to help REACH through this event and thank you so much for your support.

NOVEMBER RECAP AND DECEMBER SESSIONS

In our online November yoga sessions, we have been focusing on getting grounded, feeling supported and being comfortable in the body.  We've been working on the health of the joints, releasing the shoulders and back and finding softness and comfort by using supportive aids.

In our online meditation classes we have been looking at True Relaxation and the 5 levels that need to be relaxed in order to truly experience complete relaxation.  We've explored techniques to reduce stress, balance the nervous system, process the emotions, reduce mental overwhelm and even a technique used by elite athletes and MMA fighters to slow the heart rate on demand.

In-person sessions will be resuming from this Saturday 5th December. We are very fortunate to be able to continue using the Pool Room at our Secret Garden Venue.  It's a beautiful and tranquil space with incredible acoustics and allows us to follow COVID-19 government safety measures.  The last in-person session of this year will be Saturday 19th December.  With Christmas Yoga by Candlelight sessions the following week.

In our October yoga sessions, both online and in-person,  we've been exploring the use of the ground, the support in our body through the core support structure and finding trust and freedom in the letting go.  We've also been working on strengthening and supporting the respiratory system.

In our August yoga sessions, both online and in-person, we took a few weeks to really slow down and just enjoy  yoga by simply softening and breathing through the practise. In the last few weeks we've been inviting freedom into the body through free, organic movement, connecting to the inner dance of the body that massages, soothes and invigorates the whole being.


In our online meditation classes we have explored stress related illness and stress-relief meditation practises in an informal mini course and have now moved into the beautiful practise of Yoga Nidra that we will be diving deeply into over the next few weeks.

In our July yoga sessions, both online and in-person, we have been working on reconnecting and opening the whole body with special focus on releasing tension from the shoulders, improving upper body posture and strengthening and opening the respiratory system through stretching and focused breath.

In our online meditation classes we are exploring stress related illness and stress-relief meditation practises that work on all the different layers of our being.

Secret Garden Outdoor Yoga

We had a beautiful Secret Garden Outdoor Yoga session yesterday and we are very blessed to have such a special location and space to use.

If you would like to book in for any of the July sessions please contact me so I can book you in.  

If you prefer to form your own private group with friends and family please contact me for availability.


Guidelines for Secret Garden Yoga Sessions
  • Secret Garden sessions are held in a private garden in Stock, the address will be given on booking.
 
  • Sessions are strictly limited to just 5 people in a session and social distancing must be adhered to at all times following the government guidelines.  It is advisable that you wash/sanitise your hands before and after your session. 
 
  • You will need to use your own equipment so please bring your own yoga mat, blanket, eye pillows, cushions etc.  You can get a 10% discount on yoga equipment at Manduka by using the code: VICTORIAYOGA.  If you are unable to purchase equipment please let me know and I may be able to long term loan/sell my second hand equipment to you.  Manduka sell specific yoga mat wash to spray down and clean your yoga mat after sessions.
 
  • You may like to bring a ground sheet to place under your mat, a picnic blanket works perfectly!
 
  • Sessions are £10 and you can pay cash on the day or do a bank transfer/PayPal transfer if you prefer.  Booking is on a first come, first served basis and pre booking is essential. Due to the limit on numbers, if you book in for a session, you will be required to pay for it even if you are unable to attend unless another student can take your place.  
 
  • Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your session and please leave promptly to allow change over time between classes.
 
  • There are toilet and hand washing facilities and hand santiser available at the venue.
 
  • I have invested in a gazebo to give us some protection against the elements if needed, but I will have to cancel in extreme bad weather. A WhatsApp group has been set up to allow me to directly contact everyone in the session if this is the case.  If you don't wish your number to be shared let me know and I will contact you separately.  Whilst we do have the gazebo for shelter and shade please consider that we are outdoors and so bring adequate protection from the elements i.e sun hat if sunny, layers if chilly
 
  • Don't forget to bring your own water to drink especially if the weather is hot!

Please don't worry if you do not feel ready yet to return to in person classes, whilst we may be weathering the same storm we are all in very different boats!  Only do what you feel comfortable doing and take all the time you need! In our June online live yoga sessions, we started the month with a challenging session including an Ashtanga style sun salutation.  We then slowed it right down and took a few chilled, stretchy, soothing and relaxing Yin style sessions, staying close to the ground and offering nourishment and self care.  We used the heat in our last session to deeply stretch through the whole body.

In our online meditation classes we explored why self care is so important and how it has the power to impact the world around us. We dedicated the whole month to self care, self love and emotional and physical healing.

All of these sessions are now in the online yoga and meditation library if you missed them or would like to experience them again.  You can join the live sessions and access the library by signing up at www.victoriayogaonline.com.  There are now 3 options for access -

I am very pleased to announce that we are starting outdoor yoga sessions this month!  I am unfortunately limited to just 5 people in a session following the government guidelines, so it will be on a first come, first served basis and pre booking will be essential.  I have invested in a gazebo to give us some protection against the elements if needed, but I will have to cancel in extreme bad weather.   I have set up a WhatsApp group to be able to keep those booked in updated if this is the case.  If you would like to join a session please let me know and also provide me with your mobile number so that I can add you to the group messages.  Please see the timetable below for days and times.

We stopped short in March due to the lockdown and I know that I owe classes to some of you.  Some of you contacted me and kindly offered to waiver the classes which was so very kind and I trust that you can see the money has gone back into the business with the set up and running of the online platform and also now with setting up these outdoor sessions.  If you do however still would like the owed sessions, you are of course more than welcome to make up these sessions as we start back.  Please just let me know if this is the case and also do remind me how many sessions I owe you.

'Pay as you go' option now available for online classes!

I hope this finds you and your family well.  I just wanted to give you a quick update.  

I know lots of you are enjoying the online platform for our yoga and meditation sessions and I thank you for all your feedback.  I've been really impressed with the Namastream platform and what I love is that it is continuing to improve and grow by listening to the feedback and suggestions of it's users.  So if you do have any suggestions for improvements please do not hesitate to let me know and I can pass them on.  There are lots of exciting improvements already in the pipeline so stay tuned!

For those of you already signed up nothing will change with your subscriptions but for those who have not signed up yet I am now able to offer 3 ways to access the platform:

- Annual Subscription
- Monthly Subscription
- Day Pass - giving you a 'Pay as You Go' option if you would like to just do the live sessions or use the library without commitment.  You also do not need a PayPal account for this option.
