Exploring the Stillness
So much emphasis in our lives and indeed in our yoga practise is about doing - doing work, doing the housework/laundry, doing yoga, doing a tree pose, doing relaxation. What I'd like to explore with you is what happens when you don't 'do'. When you experience yoga by just being rather than doing. We are, after all, human beings and not human doings!
'Exploring the Stillness' is a whole day workshop allowing more time to explore and deepen your practise of yoga. Nestled in the heart of the Essex countryside at the beautiful Retreat Farm, and in the space known as The Sanctuary, a general yoga practise to warm, loosen and open the body will start the day and we will touch briefly on the concept of stillness within the practise of yoga.
After lunch we will dive right into the exploration of stillness within some more restorative poses. We will be tuning into the more subtle workings of the body which will provide a deeper awareness or layer to your yoga practise. This is an exploratory workshop so feel free to bring your favourite pose that we can work on!
We will finish the day with the deeply healing and relaxing practise of Yoga Nidra.
This is a small group setting of just 8 people.
Please bring a packed lunch. Teas, coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the day.

WHAT TO BRING: If you have your own yoga mat please bring it. However if you are just starting out or you forget your mat then I have mats to borrow for the day. Please bring a blanket or an extra layer of clothing for the relaxation as the body will cool down quite a bit during this part of the day and it is hard to relax if you feel cold! You may also like to bring some slippers for moving around the holistic centre. Please bring a pack lunch.
WHAT TO WEAR: Whatever you are comfortable in, just make sure you can move easily. Sometimes wearing a few layers is better so you can take them off and on depending on your body temperature. The class takes place in bare feet but it's nice to have some socks for the relaxation!
