A day of exploratory and experimental Scaravelli inspired yoga .
We will be exploring some of the concepts that Vanda Scaravelli wrote about in her book 'Awakening the Spine'. These concepts are abstract and impossible to experience through reading alone. For me these concepts are ever evolving and the minute I feel I have almost mastered them a new depth, opening or insight comes in keeping me forever the enquiring beginner as I journey deeper.
This will be a practical workshop in which we will be breaking down some of our favourite yoga postures and looking at them in some technical detail whilst exploring the concepts of gravity, breath and the wave of the spine. This is a great workshop for both beginners and advanced yogis and offers a different approach to the traditional yoga system, a deeper way in which to experience the traditional yoga poses.
Nestled in the heart of the Essex countryside at the beautiful Retreat farm, and in the space known as The Sanctuary, we will journey together in a yoga practise that will explore the concepts and how they can enhance our practise and take us to a deeper level of understanding.
We will finish the day with the beautiful practice of Yoga Nidra.
This is a small group setting of just 8 people.
Please bring a packed lunch and an enquiring mind! Teas, coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the day.

WHAT TO BRING: If you have your own yoga mat please bring it. However if you are just starting out or you forget your mat then I have mats to borrow for the day. Please bring a blanket or an extra layer of clothing for the relaxation as the body will cool down quite a bit during this part of the day and it is hard to relax if you feel cold! You may also like to bring some slippers for moving around the holistic centre. Please bring a pack lunch.
WHAT TO WEAR: Whatever you are comfortable in, just make sure you can move easily. Sometimes wearing a few layers is better so you can take them off and on depending on your body temperature. The class takes place in bare feet but it's nice to have some socks for the relaxation!
