Woman's Retreat
A day to honour and celebrate being a woman.
The classical yoga system was created for the male body. Yoga in its birth was not considered for the female body. Some aspects of the classical yoga system can even be harmful to the female body. The beauty of yoga is its ability to adapt and evolve and how it has become the all inclusive practise that it is today.
In this day retreat we will look at some of the harmful effects of classical yoga on the female body and how we can adapt and support ourselves through our practise. We will also look at female posture, "pelvic floor" and everyday life habits that may have an adverse effect on us and our female bodies.
Not only will we explore the physical aspects of yoga for women but also celebrate other aspects that make us female.
Nestled in the heart of the Essex countryside at the beautiful Retreat farm, and in the space known as The Sanctuary, we will enjoy a yoga practise that supports all aspects of being a woman. A practise that is beautifully feminine. Drawing in the flow, grace, softness and curves of the feminine energy.
In the afternoon we will hold a Woman's Circle, a safe and gentle space where we can come together as woman of different ages and backgrounds and connect. We will finish the day in healing meditation.
This is a small group setting of just 8 people.
Please bring a packed lunch. Teas, coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the day.

WHAT TO BRING: If you have your own yoga mat please bring it. However if you are just starting out or you forget your mat then I have mats to borrow for the day. Please bring a blanket or an extra layer of clothing for the relaxation as the body will cool down quite a bit during this part of the day and it is hard to relax if you feel cold! You may also like to bring some slippers for moving around the holistic centre. Please bring a pack lunch.
WHAT TO WEAR: Whatever you are comfortable in, just make sure you can move easily. Sometimes wearing a few layers is better so you can take them off and on depending on your body temperature. The class takes place in bare feet but it's nice to have some socks for the relaxation!
