We have been working technically on our foundations through January. How to stand, how to sit, how to be mindful to the stress areas in the body and how to release the tension that is held in those areas especially in the shoulders and the neck. We have also been looking at how we can open up our asanas (poses) by directing the energy and awareness and we have been moving through the postures of the Sun Salutations with these elements in mind. We will continue with our groundwork into February and I'd also like to add some more flow and breath work to assist us with the seasonal shifting.
There will be no class Monday 11th February.

Please remember that yoga is about working with your own body, there is no pressure to keep up or even have to do everything if it doesn't feel comfortable. Yoga is progressive and if you give your body time, and focus on the relaxation, all the other parts (strength, flexibility etc.) will fall into place.
Finally I would like to share details of a local Charity Barn Dance coming up that my sister in law is organising. Ellie is running the London Marathon and to help fund raise, all proceeds from this charity event will go to Mind, the mental health charity. For more details please see the following link http://www.victoriayoga.co.uk/barn-dance.html Look forward to seeing you there!
If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to contact me.
Peace and blessings
