I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather.
September has been another wonderful month of yoga, the pace subtly slowing, so that more subtle and intricate workings of the body have had attention. Special focus has been placed on the immune system as I have introduced lymphatic massage and respiratory strengthening pranayama (breath) into the practise as we transition into autumn.
There seems to be a real need in this moment to slow down, stop and take a breath. So do it now if you like, wherever you are...take a moment...soften through your body...soften the torso, the abdominals, the chest, the rib cage, the back and collarbone and experience your breath moving into the space you have created...the breath able to deepen into this space. Let go of each out breath... slowly... and fully... get that sense of slowing down............Take another few breaths in this way, closing the eyes if it helps and feel that pause at the end of each breath that brief moment of stillness.....ahhhhhh!
I'm hoping to bring more of this deeply needed stillness into the practise in October :)
