A huge congratulations to Ellie for completing the London Marathon for Mind Charity Mind is a mental health charity that provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. If you or anyone you know is suffering mentally or emotionally please speak out. "Its OK not to be OK"
Our Meditation for Mind charity event raised £144 adding to Ellie's total of £4226!! Thank you to everyone who supported the event, Ellie and Mind Charity by attending the event or making a donation. Anyone who hasn't done so but would like to contribute can make a donation to Ellie's page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/run-ellieball-run
I created a hand out for the event that included a step by step guide to Calming Breath and Mantra Meditation. If anyone would like a copy for themselves, friends or family please let me know.
We are running another charity meditation session this month supporting the lovely Sarah from Thursday evening yoga. Sarah will be abseiling 418 feet down the tallest permanent abseil tower in the world! She is doing this to raise money for Action Duchenne and to raise awareness of a condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). For more details and to book this event please see the following link: http://www.victoriayoga.co.uk/charity-meditation.html
In our April yoga practise we allowed ourselves to slow down and connect deeper. We also spent time with the breath, connecting to and allowing an effortless exhalation. Towards the end of the month we introduced more fluidity into the practise making the quality almost dance-like. I hope to develop this further through May and to also look at releasing the diaphragm in order to open up the inhalation.
I will be running the Monday class on Bank Holiday 6th May but not the Bank Holiday on Monday 27th May.
Dates for the diary:
Charity Meditation Event - Friday 31st May 2019
Yoga Retreat Day - Summer 2019
If you booked in for April sessions, then your booking is automatically carried forward into May unless you have let me know otherwise. If you no longer want your space, please let me know so I can offer your space to someone who maybe waiting. If you wish to be added to a waiting list, please let me know and I will notify you when a space becomes available.
Please remember that yoga is about working with your own body, there is no pressure to keep up or even have to do everything if it doesn't feel comfortable. Yoga is progressive and if you give your body time, and focus on the relaxation, all the other parts (strength, flexibility etc.) will fall into place.
All class details including availability are sent out in a monthly email, please use the sign up to add yourself to the mailing list
If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to contact me.
Peace and blessings
